Caravan & Tent Pitches
Paul would like to remind all weekenders that there are caravan & tent pitches available at a very reasonable cost - so if you feel like dancing the weekend away why not enquire and see whats avaialable!
Having now got himself kitted out with a DJ outfit, equipment that is - not clothing, Paul will be able to host the music for many of his own events as well offering to do the same for others looking for a DJ!
The Downtown Daddyos
Heathcoat Hall - Saturday Feb 19th 2011
Another brilliant evening in prospect and Paul, standing in for an absent DJ, got things off with an excellent mix of music building up from some slow Jive into fast Rock'n'Roll as well as a few Rockabilly numbers. These dances got the large audience up and going - the night was starting to come alive!
As peoples energy flagged down came the tempo, strolling and few slow swing/jive numbers and then back up again went the beat, the tension was building and we were all set for the band who hit the stage and wowed the audience from the very start. What a fantastic first set, fast Rock'n'Roll, bop, Rockabilly, Strolling, Jive they gave us the whole range, the music was tight, the vocals spot on and the enthusiasm to entertain outstanding!
A break, not needed we the audience felt, but then don't we always think that, and back came the band to perform another stunning set - again a strong mix of styles to encourage all - on we went thouroughly enjoying ourselves and all too soon it was time to end, but not without a final couple of tracks!
An absolutely superb night, if you get the chance do yourself a favour and catch these guys at a nearby gig, you wont be disappointed, I can guarentee that!!
The Heartbeats
Heathcoat Hall - Saturday Jan 22nd 2011
Paul DJ'd for the night and provided a strong selection of music covering a wide range of dance styles and speeds;
a wonderful buffet was laid on by Tom & Val providing some much needed energy after the brilliant first set from the band.
Starting with a bop and transferring into a fast medley of Rock'n'Roll numbers The Heartbeats kept the dancing hot all the way up
to a section for the strollers followed by some more moderate jive.
After the break off we went again, great music, superb vocals and space on the dance floor to wind up to top speed as the
numbers flowed thick and fast; a brief respite with some strollers, and then hot on the pace up to a fantastic finish.
Tired but more than happy the audience gradually melted away as Paul DJ'd on into the rest of the night!
The Midnight Cruisers
Uplowman Village Hall Saturday September 18th saw a great performance from the Midnight Cruisers who gave us a wonderful evening's entertainment with a great mix of Rockabilly, bop and strolling as well as many traditional Rock 'n' Roll numbers. It was a great night and an enthusiastic band kept the dancers up and going, fueled by the superb Bar-B-Q serving burgers and hot dogs throughout most of the night.
The KingCats Rock at Paul 'n' Maries
Heatchcote Hall, Tiverton and The Kingcats were red hot playing their intense Rock 'n' Roll to an audience of extremely appreciative dancers. Two fantastic sets were played by the boys more than ably supported by several songs from the wonderful Abbie Marie - what a great performer this young lady is becoming and no doubt to be a star soon in her own right!
Rockin' The Joint at Newton Abbott
It was August 7th 2010 at Newton Abbott Rock 'n' Roll club and we were all priviliged to see the new Rockin' The Joint line up with Alan Eden taking over the role of drummer.
Boy! were we in for a treat, it was an electirc performance all round with the fabulous trio giving it their all throughout both sets, the audience loved it and responded with some really 'hot' Rock 'n' Roll, fast, furious and fun - that summed the night up!
My advice - if you get thechance trek over mountains, dales, hills, valleys, what ever it takes to see these great musicians.
